„Eclipse“

Eclipse (1764 – 1789) was an undefeated and considered the greatest british race horse of his time. His sire line has become dominant in the modern thoroughbred worldwide. It has been estimated that Elipse is a tail-male ancestor of 95pc of contemporary thoroughbreds – or of nearly every living racehorse in the world.

 

Seattle Slew

Seattle Slew (1974 – 2002) became the 10th winner of the American Triple Crown (1977). He is one of only two horses to have won the Triple Crown while being undefeated in any previous race.

 

„Secretariat“

Secretariat (1970 – 1989) was a champion who was the ninth winner of the American Triple Crows setting and still holding the fastest time record in all three of its constituent races. He is widely considered to be the greatest racehorse of all time.

„Seabiscuit“

Seabiscuit (1933-1947) was a small horse, at 15.2 hands (157cm) high. He beat the 1937 Triple Crown Winner War Admiral by four lengths in a two-horse special race and became the top money-winning race horse up to the 1940s.

„Ruffian“

Ruffian (1972–1975) won ten consecutive races. She was in the lead at every  point of call in every race she ever ran and set new stakes records in each of the eight Stakes races she won. 
She broke her ankle during her last race and had to be put down as a result.

Man O’War

Man O’War (1917-1947) is widely regarded as one of the greatest racehorses of all time. He won 20 of 21 races, and is found in almost all modern American thoroughbred pedigrees, his influence intends also to Europe. He was the most admired and beloved horse in history.

Native Dancer

Native Dancer (1950-1967), the „Gray Ghost“, was one of the most celebrated and accomplished racehorses in American history, and was the first horse made famous through the medium of television.  He sired 43 stakes winner, and is also the damsire of Northern Dancer, arguably the most influential stallion of the 20th Century.

Whistlejacket

Whistlejacket (c. 1762) is a painting by the british horse painter George Stubbs (1724-1806) showing the arabian stallion Whistlejacket. The painting here is an inverted representation whereby the typical horse perception of the Baroque period was changed into the realism of the 21st century.
The image size was slightly reduced for technical reasons.

Commissioned painting

I am happy to accept commissioned work of American horses. 
The classic representation in a standing position is preferred, also a horse racing, as you can see here in the pictures.
Image sized approximately 63 x 79 inches (1,6 x 2 meters), no small image formats!
The production takes about 3 months.

With commissioned paintings you can choose the monochrome background color yourself, but you will also be given some suggestions.
The background color has a huge power on the overall effect of the image, it even influences the perception of the horse’s coat, as you can see below.
